MEET THE FOUNDER

Hello, I’m Sheila.

I founded Insight Counseling Center in 2010 after realizing that healing works best when people are treated as whole, complex human beings, not just a set of symptoms. I wanted to create a space that felt different from the rushed, impersonal experiences I had seen in other settings.

The work I do isn't only academic. I bring lived understanding of what it means to grow up in environments where there wasn't much room to be a kid. I grew up in a home shaped by mental illness and addiction, where I learned early to take care of others before I was ever taken care of myself.

I know what it's like to feel responsible for everyone, to second-guess yourself, and to wonder if you'll ever stop carrying it all. I also know what's possible when you finally have the space to put it down. And what it takes to build a life that actually feels like your own.

All of our clinicians share the same commitment.

Three simple steps to get started.

  • 01 | Let's Chat.

Schedule a free 15 minute consultation so we can meet and collaborate. This will be by phone or video. We’ll answer any questions you have and this will give you the opportunity to better understand our services and the therapy process.

  • 02 | Let's Schedule.

If we agree to work together, we’ll schedule your first appointment and email a setup link to your client portal account, where you can complete new client forms, as well as questionairres to help us understand you and your goals.

  • 03 | Let's Begin.

We’ll connect online via the HIPAA-compliant link provided where our first few sessions will focus on getting to know each other and building a safe, trusting connection. That foundation is what makes the rest of the work possible.
