WHO WE WORK WITH

Strengthen the Connections That Matter Most.

The relationship with your partner shapes your daily life more than almost anything else. When that connection feels strained, distant, or stuck, it doesn't stay contained. It bleeds into how you sleep, work, parent, and feel about yourself.

Couples therapy gives you and your partner a space to step back and look at what's actually happening between you, without the pressure of needing to have answers before you walk in. We help you understand the patterns you keep landing in, name what's underneath the conflict, and figure out how to move toward each other again.

Our work is collaborative. We meet you where you are, draw from evidence-based approaches, and tailor each session to what your relationship actually needs, repairing trust after a betrayal, communicating without the cycle of fight-or-shutdown, rebuilding intimacy that's gone quiet, or learning how to talk about hard things without it becoming a fight.

WHAT TO EXPECT

How Couples Therapy Can Help.

Couples therapy may be a good fit if you're experiencing:

✦ Communication struggles or frequent conflict
✦ Emotional distance or disconnection
✦ Trust concerns or infidelity
✦ Challenges with intimacy
✦ Parenting or family pressures
✦ Financial or life transitions
✦ Anger and resentment
✦ Cultural or value differences
✦ Premarital concerns
✦ Breakups or separation
✦ Dating challenges

These patterns might show up as repeated arguments, feeling like you're living as roommates, struggling to heal after a breach of trust, or questioning the future of your relationship. If any of this resonates, you're not alone, and support is within reach.

Couples therapy isn't only about fixing what's broken. It's about building something that holds up over time: understanding, empathy, and a partnership that can weather what comes next. In our inclusive, nonjudgmental space, you and your partner reconnect to what actually matters, without blame, shame, or pressure to perform. You'll start to see the patterns keeping you stuck, learn to communicate in ways that don't escalate, and build the kind of emotional safety that makes your relationship feel like home again.

"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances:
if there is any reaction, both are transformed."

Questions we hear most often.

  • Most of the work happens with both partners in the virtual room, and that's the default. There are times when one of you might attend alone — for instance, when we're working on something individual that's affecting the relationship, or when one partner needs space to process something before bringing it into the couples work. We'll talk through what's most helpful as we go.

  • This is more common than you might think. You can still benefit from individual work focused on the relationship, even if your partner isn't ready. Sometimes that work shifts the dynamic enough that your partner becomes curious. Sometimes it gives you clarity about what you want next. Either way, you don't have to wait for someone else to be ready before you start.

  • It depends on what brought you in. Some couples need a few months to work through a specific issue — a communication pattern, a recent conflict, a transition. Others stay longer to address deeper layers like trust repair, intimacy, or long-standing dynamics. We'll set clear goals early on and check in regularly about whether the work is doing what you want it to. We don't keep people in therapy longer than necessary.

  • Yes, to all of it. We work with dating couples, engaged couples, married couples, couples in ethical open or polyamorous relationships, 2SLGBTQIA+ couples, blended families, long-distance partners, and couples in any stage or structure that's meaningful to you. The work is the same: helping you understand each other and build something that holds up.

  • We meet over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You both join from wherever you are — same room, different rooms, different cities, as long as you're both physically in California at the time of the session. Sessions are 60 minutes. Other than the camera, it works the same as in-person therapy.

  • Yes. Everything we discuss in session is protected by clinical confidentiality laws. There are a few legal exceptions (such as reports of child abuse or imminent danger to self or others) that we'll explain upfront, but those situations are rare. We also use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, so the technology itself is built for privacy.

  • Self-pay is $125 to $250 per 60-minute session, depending on the therapist and their licensure level. If you're using insurance, your copay typically falls between $10 and $65 per session, depending on your plan. Full breakdown is on our Fees page.

  • Yes. We reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spots for clients with demonstrated financial need. Please reach out before scheduling to discuss availability — those spots fill quickly.

  • We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and a variety of widely used payment apps for your convenience. Session fees, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles must be paid at the time of service.

  • If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, and your plan includes out-of-network (OON) mental health coverage, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. You’ll pay for sessions upfront, and we will provide a Superbill containing the documentation needed to file your claim.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm the following:

    • Do I have mental health benefits?

    • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

    • Does my plan cover couples or family therapy?

    • How much is reimbursed per session?

    • Is pre-authorization or a referral required?
