Supporting Wildland Firefighters
Wildland Firefighter Behavioral Health Program
At Insight Counseling Center, we are honored to support the brave men and women who serve on the front lines of our nation’s wildfires. Through the Wildland Firefighter Behavioral Health Program, we provide tailored mental health services to address the unique challenges faced by wildland firefighters and their families.
We Understand the Weight You Carry
Wildland firefighters endure physically grueling conditions, extended deployments, sleep disruption, and high-stakes environments. These demands often take a toll—physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
Our team is here to provide support with:
❖ Chronic stress and emotional exhaustion
❖ Depression, anxiety, and sleep issues
❖ Trauma and PTSD symptoms
❖ Isolation during off-season or after injury
❖ Struggles with identity, purpose, or family dynamics
❖ Reintegration challenges after fire assignments
We understand that many in this field are used to pushing through pain. We offer a space where you can set that weight down and begin to recover.

Our Approach
We understand that the work you do is unlike any other—physically demanding, mentally intense, and often isolating. That’s why we offer trauma-informed care designed specifically for the needs of wildland firefighters and dispatchers.
Our licensed therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches like EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based therapies, and bring a deep respect for the realities of field life. Whether you're dealing with stress that’s been building over time, unresolved trauma, or a recent life change that’s thrown you off course, we’re here to walk alongside you—not push, pressure, or pathologize.
Services are offered through secure telehealth across California, so you can access care wherever you are—whether you’re back home, on rest and recovery, or in between assignments. Together, we’ll build a treatment plan that supports your goals and respects your experience.
No judgment. No jargon. Just real help, at your pace.
