Supporting Wildland Firefighters
Wildland Firefighter Behavioral Health Program
At Insight Counseling Center, we are honored to support the brave men and women who serve on the front lines of our nation’s wildfires. Through the Wildland Firefighter Behavioral Health Program, we provide tailored mental health services to address the unique challenges faced by wildland firefighters and their families.
We Understand the Weight You Carry
Wildland firefighters endure physically grueling conditions, extended deployments, sleep disruption, and high-stakes environments. These demands often take a toll—physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
Our team is here to provide support with:
❖ Chronic stress and emotional exhaustion
❖ Depression, anxiety, and sleep issues
❖ Trauma and PTSD symptoms
❖ Isolation during off-season or after injury
❖ Struggles with identity, purpose, or family dynamics
❖ Reintegration challenges after fire assignments
We understand that many in this field are used to pushing through pain. We offer a space where you can set that weight down and begin to recover.

Our Approach
Insight Counseling Center is a trauma-informed, telehealth-based group practice based in California. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches like EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based therapies. We work collaboratively with each firefighter to create a treatment plan that fits their needs, schedule, and goals—without judgment or pressure.
Whether you're on rest and recovery, managing a shoulder season, or looking for long-term healing, we’re here to meet you where you are.
How To Get Started.
CONTACT MAGELLAN
Contact the Magellan Federal Call Center and request a referral for the Wildland Firefighter Behavioral Health Program. This first step starts the process for us to support you.
Once your referral is approved, our office manager, Sarah will call to match you with the right clinician. We aim to make this process simple and personalized.
In your first session, we’ll listen to your story, understand your concerns, and start making a plan that helps you achieve your goals and feel more grounded and supported.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.”
